Henryk Wisner, born in 1936 in Warsaw, is a distinguished Polish historian and academic associated with the Polish Academy of Sciences. With a rich academic background, he graduated from the University of Warsaw in 1962 and earned his doctoral degree in 1967, followed by a postdoctoral degree in 1972. He was awarded the title of professor in 1987 and became a full professor in 1994. Wisner has dedicated many years of his career to studying modern Polish history, especially the history of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during the reign of the Vasa dynasty, with a particular focus on Lithuania between 1587 and 1648.
