Andrzej Gąsiorowski, born in 1950, is a distinguished historian and academic. He is a professor at the Institute of Politology at the University of Gdańsk and also teaches at the Wyższa Szkoła Polityki Społecznej i Gospodarczej in Starogard Gdański. His academic journey began at the University of Gdańsk, where he graduated in history in 1973, and he earned his doctorate in 1979. Gąsiorowski achieved habilitation in 2000 at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved in research related to Poland's history during World War II, with particular focus on the anti-Nazi resistance in Pomerania.

He has held notable roles such as the head of the Regional Commission of the Institute of National Remembrance in Gdańsk, and he currently serves as the President of the Scientific Advisory to the Baltic Institute. Gąsiorowski is also actively engaged with various historical and memorial organizations, contributing to the preservation and study of historical memory related to Polish history and WWII.
