Maciej Iłowiecki, born as Tadeusz Maciej Iłowiecki, is a distinguished Polish journalist and publicist with a rich career spanning several decades. A native of Silesia, he is an alumnus of the University of Warsaw, where he studied biochemistry. Throughout his journalistic journey, Iłowiecki contributed to renowned publications such as "Polityka," "Przegląd Techniczny," and the monthly magazine "Problemy" during the PRL era. After the fall of communism, he continued his work with "Spotkania" weekly and television station Polsat. Notably, Iłowiecki was a participant in the historic Round Table talks and has served as the president of the Polish Journalists' Association. His contributions to journalism and public discourse have been recognized with the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
